I was going to say possibly booster. What are you using for rear brakes?
It has an 8.8 with disks.

Damn was hoping for the easy out that eldorados need the e-brake hooked up or it this will happen.
This is probably what’s wrong with Jeremy’s YJ. How brake suck and has those calipers

Well that’s probably why the brakes suck in my YJ then…

Just learned it the other day lol they need some pressure pulling back on lever to operate.

I have the dodge 2500 master with 4 wheel disc brakes.  Stops really well.  My YJ is a 95 and has the dual diaphragm booster.  I've been told that helps a lot.

Got the new booster today.

Installed it adjusted the push rode better and now i can lock up the front tires. Petal doesn’t go to the floor. Just need to adjust the rear some and should be good to go!

Can you set the manual proportioning valve so you can lock up just the rears?

I've never played with one and  wonder what it would feel like having more rear brakes than front.

Is there a procedure to set it up or do you just do it by "Feel"?

I always set them so they lock up then turn it back 1/2 to a full turn , so they don’t lock up

I think I'm going to try a manual one when I redo the Red Jeep next time.  I'm also toying with the idea of trying a home made disk conversion on the rear.  It depends if I reuse my current axles or switch up to Waggy 44's.

If I was going to mess with the rear I’d do cutting brakes
I have never looked into cutting brakes, I have seen buggy’s with them. Idk if I’ll actually get any advantage having them

Not with your locker you wouldn’t. You need a selectable locker in order for cutting brakes to work.

I had to look them up, but it seems like cutting brakes would be ideal for open diffs. When that free wheel starts to spin, you can just activate the brake on it, instead of trying to feather the brake pedal.

The buggy guys use them to pivot around tight obstacles. Also they are actually built into some of the new Broncos from the factory… they call it turn assist. Although I doubt anyone that has purchased a new Bronco actually know what they are or how they work…

I was thinking about trying them on my $1500 challenge rig if the E-brakes work at all.

Anyone got a spare floor mount E-brake handle assembly out of a TJ?  I've got one and need one more.

Just be carful. Using the ebrake to help stop a tire from spinning is how a destroyed an axle shaft at windrock.

LOL I think there was more than the e brake contributing to that failure, TJ e brakes dont work that well
