New guy from Western MA

Thanks Guys.  I have more wiring issues now so it is parked until I figured out what I want to do.  I am looking at going this route: http://www.ezwiring.com/wiring_harness.html  My jeep has been changed a bit from stock and I really don't think going with a Jeep specific wiring harness will actually do me any good.  The jeep was sparking and there was a burning smell from under the dash last week.  I pulled the blinker fuse and it stopped, but I am sick of patching previous owners hacks.  I also had all my electrical gauges die as well.  They will all be replaced with mechanical sending units and gauges.  Just Empty Every Pocket.

I've done a bunch of work to it since I posted before.  All new fuel lines, hoses, and vent lines.  MC 2100 Carb.  Header, cat delete, and flowmaster.  I have a new front bumper to put on and there is the stock CJ tow bar on the back now.  I think that is all I have done, but the carb and fuel line work has made a big difference.

My bought just bought this Mog.  He was a jeeper and had a CJ-5, but this thing is nuts.  Portal axles and 44 inch military tires.  It even has a port in the roof for a machine gunner!

Figured I would give this an update.  New paint, POR 15 the frame, opened up the rear wheel arches a bit to prevent rubbing, added new flares to replaced the damaged ones from rubbing, took off the stock tire carrier, filled the holes, new seats front and rear, and did a tune up.  New 4 inch YJ lift is in and waiting to be installed, along with everything needed to do that.  The only thing I am waiting on is for the bilsteins to arrive, which are on back order.  My retrosound radio died, so I have to get a new radio or get that one replaced.  So now I have a complete set of nutmeg 1985 renegade seats to sell.  I also might go to 35 inch tires and sell the 33s.

A bit of an update.  Currently having a YJ skyjacker 4 Inch lift, Bilsteins, Tom Woods CV Drive shaft, new 35s, Teraflex disconnects, etc. installed.  Also was able to ditch the transfer case drop, which was nice.  Doing a bunch of other stuff too, like sandblasting and painting the 15x8 wagons wheels.  They are now chevy rally silver.  Here are some in progress pics.

My GF was messing around and did a picture for me.  It isn't done.  She will be painting a period correct black pin stripe on the wheels, for a renegade.

Yup, she did it with a felt pen I think.  I will try to make it to the meet and greet.  I am hoping the jeep is done then.  Welding the axle tubes and perches today hopefully.  Clocking the axle up.  Should cure all the vibration I was having.

So my 258 is very worn out and burning oil/smoking badly unless I put in a can and a half of engine restore, and needed to be rebuilt, so I bought this yesterday:

It was rebuilt 10000 miles ago and comes with the CJ engine mounts, power steering brackets/pump, clutch, flywheel, and everything seen here.  I am going to clean it up, paint it AMC Blue, and take a look at the inside of it to see if its good to go.  Its an AMC 360 V8.  I will probably get a Holley Truck Avenger Carb for it.
