Newbie intro

Hey all,

Been lurking on your forums for a bit here and there and with the M&G coming up on the 19th I thought I'd create an account and say hi. New Jeep owner here and new to Connecticut so I guess you could say I'm starting from absolute scratch.  :smile:

I'll save the life story and the deep "getting to know you" chitchat for later. For the time being I just wanted to say hey and also to ask when the info for the M&G is going to get posted. It's in a couple days and I'd love to know what time it's going down (as well as anything else that's worth knowing....I assume I just look for the group of people standing around a bunch of Jeeps?)

Anyway, glad to be here and to have found the forum. You all seem like a pretty chill, laid-back group. That can be hard to find when you're looking at car clubs.

Thanks a ton for the warm welcome! I'll get some pics of the rig up soon - right now all I have are boring driveway shots. I've only had her for about a week or two. She's a 2015 silver Willys.

For those asking, my wife and I moved here from Philly and we're living in Simsbury. Needless to say, the adjustment game has been strong. :smile: There's a little bit of a difference between the middle of the city and the middle of the woods. It's been a welcome change though. After 8 years of the dirt, grime, and crowding of Philly the fresh air, trees, and space of living here in Connecticut has been fantastic. We've only been here for about 2 months but they've been great months. Looking forward to some good times here.

Great to see that the info for the M&G's been posted! Looking forward to meeting some of you! Thanks again for the welcome.

Oh wow - awesome to see a bunch of you out this way. Might take you up on the offers for some info on spots to visit and things to do/see. There's so much new stuff to explore here it's hard to keep track to be honest. Happy to know there's a good number of club people out here.

Since it came up again, here's a pic of my girl waiting patiently while I sample the wares from a close-by brewery. The beer scene here in CT is insane....so much good stuff. I thought that Philly took its beer seriously but it's got nothing on what's happening here in CT. I've lost count of the beers that I've tried and loved since coming to New England.

I bought her as a hardtop but got the soft top (and doors) installed over the weekend so she's all set for summer.
